Electricity Consumers Likely to Get Rs0.37 Per Unit Relief in November Bills

ISLAMABAD: Power consumers across Pakistan may receive a Rs0.368 per unit relief in their November electricity bills, following a petition filed by the Central Power Purchasing Agency-Guarantee (CPPA-G) seeking a fuel cost adjustment (FCA) refund for September 2025.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has scheduled a public hearing on October 29 to review and decide the request. If approved, the reduction will be applicable to all power distribution companies, including K-Electric, in line with federal guidelines ensuring a uniform tariff adjustment nationwide.

According to CPPA-G’s petition, the reference fuel cost for September was Rs7.6554 per unit, while the actual generation cost came to Rs7.2873 per unit, resulting in a lower cost of generation that will be passed on to consumers as a refund through the FCA mechanism.
